The petrol station at the Pack service station is operated by Agip , the restaurant and motor hotel by the Oldtimer Restaurant Betriebsgesellschaft , which established the service station in 1996.

In 2002 the Pack service station won the golden R award in the service restaurant category . At this price, 47 out of 82 rest stops in Austria were rated by the visitors themselves.

For truck drivers, the location of the rest stop in the mountainous area of the Lavant Valley is a disadvantage because there are only a few parking spaces for trucks. On some nights all free spaces are therefore parked with trucks.

In 2005, the rest area was given an access from the passing municipal road for loading activities and for the employees. This driveway was a much discussed topic in the Preitenegg municipal council until it was built . Some residents wanted a faster connection to the motorway. Access from the municipal road to the rest area for people other than suppliers and employees was not permitted.
