Town hall in Bad Grönenbach

The town hall in Bad Grönenbach in the Unterallgäu district in the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia was built in 1936/1937. The leprosy house was located here until 1808 . That year the market bought the building. From then on, the lower rooms were used by the fire department to store the devices. The council room was set up in the upper part of the building. The town hall, which is still in use today, was built under Mayor Matthäus Wiedenmayer in 1936. The building has a domed tower and a balcony with the Grönenbach coat of arms on the west side facing the market square. The sgraffito on the west side under the gable were created by the painter Ludwig Eberle . The picture above shows the granting of market rights to Grönenbach in 1485 by Emperor Friedrich III. , the lower picture shows the land acquisition on the "green Ach" . The green Ach gave Grönenbach its name and originally ran in the area of today's Sonnenstrasse. A memorial plaque was placed on the west side in 1987 on the occasion of the admission of around 1,000 displaced persons from the former eastern regions ( Silesia , East Prussia , ...) in Grönenbach and Zell between 1945 and 1947 . The town hall in Bad Grönenbach is a listed building.
