Town Hall (Telč)
The Town Hall in Telč (German Teltsch ), a city in Jihlava District of Vysočina Region ( Czech Republic ), was built in the 15th century. The town hall has been a protected cultural monument since 1958.
history
The first news about the town hall dates back to 1443. The massive building was created by connecting two Gothic houses. In 1574 the building was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, creating the extraordinary front. The design of the renovation is attributed to the Italian builder Baldassare Maggi , who also directed the renovation of the chateau in Telč . The facade ends with a battlement and a round tower with an onion dome.
At the front, in the arcade, there is a plaque commemorating the entry of the city on the UNESCO list in 1992.
