The town hall in Greding , a town in the Middle Franconian district of Roth in Bavaria , was built in 1699. The baroque town hall at Marktplatz 11 is a protected architectural monument . Today the city administration of Greding is housed in the building and in the neighboring building.

History and description

The building was built for the town hall, which was burned in the Thirty Years War . The two-storey, gable-sided gable roof building with corner rustication has a roof turret with a helmet and lantern . It was probably built by court builder Jakob Engel . In the years 1935 to 1937 a renovation took place under the direction of Fritz Mayer.

The coat of arms of Prince-Bishop Johann Martin von Eyb (1697–1704) is affixed to the facade , because Greding belonged to the Eichstätt Monastery until secularization in 1803 .
