Space-forming expansion
The space-forming expansion is the name for built-in, predominantly individually made furniture , wall cladding and drywall , or the combination of all three and is firmly connected to the building . The space-creating expansion is a sub-discipline of the interior design . However, it also creates spaces and is not limited to covering the surfaces.
Areas of application
The space-forming expansion is used in all areas in which special requirements are placed on the furniture or the room that cannot be met by standard furniture. Usually an individual production takes place.
Typical examples of space-creating expansion are:
- Furniture under sloping ceilings and stairs
- built-in cupboard walls
- Room divider
- large shelves and libraries
- Dressing, walk-in closets
- Kitchens
- Baths
Planning and execution
The interior design that creates the space is usually planned by the architect or interior designer . When planning, the furniture can be assigned special functions. With a high level of planning depth, multifunctional extensions are created that can combine the following elements:
- Electrics ( light , multimedia , screens)
- Building technology (water, sewage, electricity)
- Storage space
- Access (sliding doors / doors)
On the basis of architectural drafts z. B. the carpenter's work plans and after a renewed examination by the interior designer / architect, the expansion elements are prefabricated in the workshop and installed at their destination after transport.
