Raumwelten - platform for scenography, architecture and media is a specialist event for communication in space, which is organized annually in November in Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart by the Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH and the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation . The three-day congress offers architects, scenographers , designers, students and creatives lectures, workshops and networking events. Raumwelten took place for the first time in 2012. Around 1000 trade visitors now come to Raumwelten.

Other events such as concerts, lectures and film screenings on the subject of communication will take place at various locations under the title Raumwelten Public .

The three-day congress consists of five curated event units: Each curator puts together several speakers for the respective panel. These include architects, scenographers, artists and filmmakers such as Sir Peter Cook , Hani Rashid , Doris Dörrie and Schorsch Cameroon . The lecture topics deal primarily with the production and perception of space. This includes the areas of architecture, scenography, exhibition design, stage design, trade fair construction, urban development at the interface to film and digital media ( virtual reality , active record , games).

Other event formats at the congress include lectures, competitions, workshops, excursions and matching events. The Raumwelten Congress took place on the premises of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy until 2020 . Other locations are the Academy for Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg , the Ludwigsburg residential palace , the House of Architects and the White Hall of the New Palace in Stuttgart.

Raumwelten was recognizable in the cityscape through the Raumwelten pavilion, a pneumatic tent that was set up in the academy courtyard of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and also served as an event location.
