The Ravel peak is about 1,300 meters high mountain in the northern part of the West Antarctic Alexander Island . It looms in Debussy Heights . When viewed from the east, it is distinctly pyramidal.
Aerial photographs of the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) were used by the British geographer Derek Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1960 for mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountain in 1961 after the French composer Maurice Ravel (1875-1937).
