history

The band was founded in 1988 and consisted of the bassist Franz aka Frank, the singer and guitarist Jochen "Jo" Kugelbauer and the drummer Markus aka Marcus. In 1990 the band won the international metal battle. In the following year, Frank switched to the electric guitar, whereupon Erwin aka Erik joined as the new bass player. In the same year, Aaarrg Records released the debut album Book of Covetous Souls , which was produced by Ralph Hubert . After that, Franz left the group in the same year and was replaced by the guitarist Reinhard aka Adi. In 1994 the band broke up. The band has been active again since 2014 and consists of Kugelbauer and Markus, guitarist Joe and bassist Mex. In 2015 a remastered version of the album Book of Covetous Souls was released , with four additional songs.

style

According to classicthrash.com , Ravenous' Thrash Metal hardly differs from that of other European bands. The songs on the album are dynamic, but not very memorable and unoriginal. thethrashmetalguide.com found that the group played Thrash Metal with slightly technically demanding riffs that were fast and energetic. The vocals are deep and rough and closer to Death than to Thrash Metal. Overall, the music on the album is reminiscent of Mandator's Perfect Progeny due to the aggressiveness and the riffs .
