Ray Boyd

Ray Boyd (actually Raymond Boyd ; born June 28, 1951 ) is a former Australian pole vaulter .

At the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 and in Christchurch in 1974 he finished fourth. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 and in Montreal in 1976 , he was eliminated from qualification.

In 1982 he won the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane .

He was Australian champion twelve times (1970, 1972–1976, 1978–1983). He set his personal best of 5.30 m on March 15, 1976 in Melbourne .

Ray Boyd is married to former sprinter Denise Boyd (née Robertson). Their daughter Alana Boyd is also successful as a pole vaulter.
