Ray Moyer
Paul Raymond Moyer (born February 21, 1898 in Santa Barbara , † February 6, 1986 in Woodland Hills ) was an American production designer .
Life
Moyer began his work in the film business as a so-called prop man at the MGM film studio . Previously, 1919 had done his military service. From the late 1920s he was active as a production designer. In the course of this he worked for several film studios before he finally switched to Paramount Pictures and stayed there until the end of his career.
Moyer won an Oscar each for his work on Samson and Delilah (1949), Boulevard of the Twilight (1950) and Cleopatra (1963) and was nominated nine more times. Overall, he was involved in more than 115 productions, including a few television series. His last film was Vultures Know No Mercy from 1973.
