Raymond Battalio

Raymond Charles Battalio (born 1938 in Chicago ; † December 1, 2004 ) was an American economist .

Life

Battalio received a BS degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1966 and then moved to Purdue University , where he earned an MS degree in 1968 and a Ph.D. in economics . From 1969 to 1975 he was assistant professor , from 1975 to 1981 associate professor and then until his death an economics professor at Texas A&M University . From 1988 to 1989 he was President of the Economic Science Association .

Battalio, who, together with John H. Kagel, is considered to be the pioneer in the field of experimental economic research, died in 2004 after a brief, serious illness. He conducted research in the field of game and behavior theory , especially in the context of decisions under information and uncertainty.
