Raymond Mouly
Raymond Mouly (* 1925 or 1926 in Bezons , Île-de-France ; † before April 4, 2016 ) was a French musicologist, jazz author and journalist who also worked as a music producer .
Mouly was editor-in-chief of the French Jazz Magazine for many years and presented jazz programs on French television (with Jean-Christophe Averty ); He was also the producer of the album Hum (1982) by Daniel Humair , René Urtreger and Pierre Michelot . Mouly wrote numerous liner notes (from French LP productions by Art Blakey , the Modern Jazz Quartet and Barney Wilen ) and, among other things, a book on Sidney Bechet ( Notre ami Sidney , published in Paris by Table Ronde, 1959).
