Raymond Pech (born February 4, 1876 in Valenciennes , † July 3, 1952 in Paris) was a French composer.

Life

Pech studied at the Lille Conservatory before joining the Paris Conservatory . Here he was a student of Raoul Pugno , Xavier Leroux and Charles Lenepveu . He participated three times in the competition for the Prix ​​de Rome , in 1903 he received the Second Deuxième Grand Prix with the cantata Alyssa , in 1904 the Premier Grand Prix with the lyrical scene for three voices Medora based on a text by Édouard Adenis .

In 1904 he began his stay at the Villa Medici in Rome, which was linked to the award, but he broke off in March 1905 to get married. He then taught harmony at the Paris Conservatory and in 1910 succeeded his teacher Leroux. He also worked as a singer at the Opéra-Comique .
