Raymond Wang Chong Lin

Raymond Wang Chong Lin (born May 12, 1921 - February 2, 2010 ) was a Roman Catholic priest of the underground church and Bishop of Zhao .

Life

Raymond Wang Chong Lin was ordained a priest on May 30, 1950 . The communist rulers sentenced him to 21 years in prison in 1957. It was not until 1979 that he was able to resume pastoral work in Hebei Province . In 1983 he was appointed bishop by the Chinese Underground Church and confirmed by the Holy See as Episcopal Vicar of Wei (Xingtai) . Shortly afterwards he founded a women's monastery and in 1985 pushed through the reopening of the diocesan seminary, which was closed in the 1950s . In 1988 the Chinese state confirmed it as bishop of the Xingtai diocese , in which the former bishoprics of Zhaoxian , Shunde and Weixian were absorbed.

In 2000 he was because of the episcopal ordination of Joseph Jiang Mingyuan imprisoned with this for five months.

He retired in 2006, handing over his position to Joseph Jiang Mingyuan, whom he ordained underground in 2000. In 2007, however, he returned to the episcopate due to Jiang's illness.

His successor (administrator) in the episcopate is Simon Gao Baojin .
