Raymond de Waha

Raymond de Waha (* 16th May 1877 in Luxembourg , Luxembourg ; † 10. August 1942 ) was a Luxembourg diplomat and politician of the Parti de la droite .

Life

Waha, son of Baron Mathias de Waha and his wife Augusta de Colnet-d'Huart de Waha, graduated from school at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Paris . In 1902 he earned a Doctor Rerum politicarum at the University of Munich and in 1910 chargé d'affaires in the Kingdom of Bavaria . He was also a professor of political economy and a member of the Chambre des Députés (Luxembourg) for the Parti de la droite before he was chargé d'affaires in the USA between 1919 and 1920 .

On January 5, 1920 he was in the second government of Minister of State and President of the Government of Émile Reuter Director General for Agriculture and Social Security (Directeur Général de l'Agriculture et Prévoyance sociale) . At the same time, on April 15, 1921, he also took over the position of General Director for Industry (Directeur Général de l'Industrie) . On April 23, 1924, he resigned from these offices. His successor was then Guillaume Soisson , who was also Director General for Public Works (Directeur général des Travaux public) .

On December 30, 1922, he married Alix de la Kethulle.
