The Reale Società Ginnastica Torino was a sports club founded on March 17, 1844 in Turin by Rudolf Oberman from Zurich . Oberman was called to Turin by Carlo Alberto di Savoia to teach gymnastics to the students of the military academy. The Società Ginnastica Torino was the first gymnastics club in Italy. From 1933, the association, with the permission of Viktor Emanuel III. Call Real Società Ginnastica Torino.

Ginnastica Torino was an Italian football club from the city of Turin ( Piedmont region ). The association was founded in 1897. The team's colors were initially red and blue, later on when they took part in the Italian championship they were burgundy and white.

In 1897 the football department of Ginnastica Torino was founded. A year later, the Reale Società Ginnastica Torino took part in the first edition of the Italian Football Championship (Serie A). They failed in the semifinals at the later champions Genoa 1893 .

Ginnastica Torino took part in the first four Serie A championships. There were no outstanding results. They also registered for the 1902 championship, but gave forfait in all games .
