Reba is an American sitcom starring country singer Reba McEntire in the title role, which was produced and broadcast by The WB from 2001 to 2006 . After the television networks The WB and UPN merged in the summer of 2006, the sitcom was extended by one season and continued until 2007 on the newly founded network The CW . The sitcom was eventually discontinued due to insufficient audience ratings and rising costs. In Germany it was broadcast on RTL, in Austria on ORF. The sixth season was not dubbed.
content
The quick-witted Reba Hart is left by her husband Brock after 20 years of marriage because of the younger dental hygienist Barbara Jean. But instead of falling into self-pity, the mother of three rolls up her sleeves and makes the best of her situation.
characters
- Reba Nell Hart is a hyperactive, quick-witted housewife and mother of Cheyenne, Kyra and Jake. She is very competitive with her ex-husband Brock and his new wife Barbara Jean. She emphasizes this again and again with cynical and snappy comments.
- Brock Hart has four children: Cheyenne, Kyra and Jake by Reba and Henry by Barbara Jean. He fell in love with the much younger Barbara Jean and cheated on his wife with her. After the divorce, he immediately married her and they had son Henry. He enjoys playing golf and often bores others with stories about the sport.
- Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery is the daughter of Reba and Brock. She lives with her mother at home with her husband Van and daughter Elizabeth. Towards the end of season 4, Cheyenne's alcoholism is found out, and Reba forces her to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
- Barbara Jean Hart is the new, younger woman in father Brock Hart's life. She seems a bit crazy, but is absolutely loyal to the entire Hart family. What's more, she's probably mother Reba Nell Hart's greatest admirer, which all too often leads to weird situations.
- Elizabeth Montgomery is the baby of Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery and Van Montgomery. As became known in episode 18 of the second season, the name of the child goes back to Elizabeth Montgomery , best known for her role in In Love with a Witch .
