Joanna Leanna García Swisher (born August 10, 1979 in Tampa , Florida ) is an American actress .

life and career

Joanna García's father is a doctor and her mother is a housewife. As a child she took part in the work of a school theater, which made the broadcaster Nickelodeon aware of her and obliged her to appear on a program. García graduated from Florida State University , but dropped out of her studies due to the workload as an actress.

In the television drama Holy Joe (1999) García played one of the bigger roles on the side of John Ritter and Meredith Baxter . From 2001 to 2007 she played one of the leading roles in the television series Reba , for which she was nominated for the Teen Choice Award in 2005. She also appeared in the music video for her serial mother Reba McEntire's Every Other Weekend with Steve Howey . In the comedy A-List (2006) she was seen in a larger role on the side of Sally Kirkland and Daphne Zuniga . She also played the lead role in 2008 as Megan Smith in the US series Privileged on the side of Lucy Hale and Ashley Newbrough .

García has been married to professional baseball player Nick Swisher since December 11, 2010 . After the marriage, she changed her name to García Swisher. In May 2013 the daughter of the two was born. At the end of June 2016, the couple's second daughter was born.
