Ashley Elizabeth Ann Newbrough (born October 13, 1987 in Newport , Rhode Island ) is an American actress who gained fame mainly through appearances in US and Canadian television series.

life and career

Little Ashley Newbrough moved to Cambridge , Ontario with her family at the age of three after she was born in Newport, Rhode Island, USA . There she attended high school as the oldest of four children, where she successfully graduated from St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School ( St. Benedict CSS for short ). Before she even started high school, she was already in front of the camera for commercials for well-known brands and companies at the age of ten .

Newbrough's first notable television appearance was in 2000 when she starred in an episode of the sci-fi series Zack Files . After a year without any noteworthy acting performance, Newbrough got her first, albeit insignificant, film role in 2002 when she appeared in the US comedy Let You Think! played along. After she had a leading role in the television film The Coven in 2004 , her acting career suddenly took off. In the same year, other roles followed, including an episode of Missing . She also had a regularly recurring role in the series Radio Free Roscoe and was seen from 2003 to 2005 in a total of eight episodes as Audrey Quinlan .

In 2005 she finally had an appearance in the comedy film The Perfect Man with Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear in the lead roles. The scene could be seen in the Newbrough was, however, during the reworking of the film in the production post deleted. Newbrough was also used in two episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation in 2005 and 2006 . Ashley Newbrough's father, Greg Newbrough, was a captain in the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Her grandfather, Rich Newbrough, was a successful university football coach, best known for his work at Wilfrid Laurier University . In his honor, the university's football field was renamed The Knight Newbrough Field .

At her graduation assembly , an event in the US school system (mostly in high school or at university), at which graduates are honored and awarded their diplomas, Newbrough was awarded the “Most likely to become a Superstar Award “ Excellent.

Newbrough is also mentioned in Nigel Barker's Beauty Equation , a 2010 book by the American photographer Nigel Barker .

Before she got one of the leading roles on the television series Privileged , she worked as a waitress in a restaurant in Kitchener , Ontario .
