Sweet Magnolias (Original title: Sweet Magnolias ) is an American series by Sheryl J. Anderson , which is based on the eponymous 11 -part book series by Sherryl Woods . The first release took place on May 19, 2020 at the streaming provider Netflix . In July 2020, Netflix ordered a second season of the series.

Sweet Magnolias tells the story of three friends from the southern states who have been friends since their school days. In the meantime, they also master the daily challenges in love, family and professional life together.

The German-language synchronization was based on a dialogue book by Benjamin Wolfgarten on behalf of Berliner Synchron . The first publication took place as a OmU , as the synchronization could not be fully completed due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

On September 27, 2018, it was announced that Netflix had commissioned a television series based on the Sweet Magnolias book series by Sherryl Woods. The series premiered on May 19, 2020.
On May 30, 2019, Monica Potter , Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley were announced as leading actors. On August 1, 2019, JoAnna Garcia Swisher was cast as Maddie Townsend, replacing Potter.
