Rebutia heliosa is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rebutia heliosa usually grows sprouting with depressed spherical to short cylindrical bodies and forms small groups. The bodies reach a diameter of up to 2.5 centimeters and have beet roots. The up to 38 ribs are arranged in a spiral and divided into cusps. The elongated areoles on it are brown. There is no central spine . The 24 to 26 radial spines are white, with a mostly darker base and up to 1 millimeter long. They are arranged more or less in the shape of a comb, lie against the body or stand out slightly.

The orange to yellowish orange to purple flowers appear on the lower half of the body, are 4.5 to 5.5 inches long and reach a diameter of up to 4 centimeters. The fruits are spherical.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Rebutia heliosa is widespread in Bolivia in the Tarija department at altitudes of 2400 to 3100 meters.

The first description was published in 1970 by Walter Rausch (* 1928).

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
