Rebutia marsoneri is a species of plant in the genus Rebutia from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Rebutia marsoneri usually grows individually with depressed spherical, light to dark green bodies. The bodies reach heights of up to 4 centimeters with diameters of 5 to 6 centimeters and have fiber roots. The approximately 18 ribs are arranged in a spiral shape and divided into low round humps. The small circular areoles on it are brownish white. The different, brownish to golden yellow or white 30 to 35  spines are mostly darker at the tip and cannot be divided into central and radial spines. They are bristle-like, flexible to somewhat strong and 3 to 15 millimeters long.

The golden yellow to orange or red flowers are 3.5 to 4.5 centimeters long and 3 to 3.5 centimeters in diameter. The pericarpel and the corolla are covered with some scales. The spherical fruits are brownish and have a diameter of up to 5 millimeters.

Distribution and systematics

Rebutia marsoneri is distributed in northern Argentina in the Jujuy Province at altitudes of 2000 to 3000 meters. The first description was published in 1937 by Erich Werdermann .
