Recep Ümit Uygun

Recep Ümit Uygun (born February 20, 1926 in Usak , Turkey ; † October 13, 2013 in Altınoluk (Edremit) , Turkey) was a German-Turkish doctor.

Together with the director of the European Academy Berlin, Hermann Krätschell , he received the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin in 1993 in "recognition and appreciation of outstanding services to the city". Uygun was a resident general practitioner in Berlin-Kreuzberg . The specialist in general medicine, bronchial and pulmonary medicine made particular contributions to the topics of "diseases of migrants" and "intercultural health promotion". He was a founding member of the Berlin Society of Turkish Medicine eV
