Recep Yıldız (born March 10, 1986 in Stuttgart ) is a former Turkish professional footballer who is currently working as a player-coach in the German amateur sector.

Career

The defender spent his youth in football at SKV Stuttgart- Freiberg until he moved to the youth department of the Stuttgarter Kickers . He drew attention to himself when he threw Hamburger SV out of the DFB Cup with the Stuttgarter Kickers on September 9, 2006 and scored two goals. So far he has played twice for the Turkish U-21 national team and scored one goal. After the 2007/08 season he left the Kickers and signed a three-year contract with the Turkish first division club Antalyaspor . His first appearance was a competitive game against Galatasaray Istanbul on September 13, 2008.

His contract was terminated prematurely by mutual agreement, as it was hardly ever used in Antalya. Since the 2009/10 season he played in the promotion candidates to the Süper Lig Adanaspor and had a regular place in the starting line-up. Then he was still active in the Turkish third division side Beypazarı Şekerspor and Korfez FK , where he only came on a few missions.

In 2012 Recep Yildiz returned to Stuttgart and has since worked as a player-coach at the lower-class FC Stuttgart-Cannstatt. The club emerged from TSV Hilalspor in 2006 and made it to the district league in 2014.
