Tony Sbalbi

Tony Sbalbi (born September 4, 1969 ) is a French ski mountaineer and a member of the French national team .

Successes (selection)

With Laurent Fabre he reached sixth place at the 2001 European Ski Mountaineering Championships in the team competition. At the World Ski Mountaineering Championships in 2002 , he took second place in a team with Stéphane Brosse and was sixth in the combined ranking. In the Vertical Race he finished eighth at the European Ski Mountaineering Championships in 2005 and fourth in the relay with Florent Perrier , Bertrand Blanc and Grégory Gachet . In 2006 he was second in the Vertical Race at the World Championships and came in the same year at the Swiss Championships Vertical Race finished second after Florent Perrier, ahead of the Swiss Alexander Hug , who was the first Swiss to receive the official Swiss championship title at the event. At the European Championships in 2007 he was third in the relay with Yannick Buffet , Bertrand Blanc and Fabien Anselmet , and fifth in the vertical race with Patrick Blanc and ninth. At the World Ski Mountaineering Championships in 2008 , he finished eighth in the 2008 World Championship single long distance discipline.
