Alexander Hug (born May 11, 1975 in Walenstadt ) is a former Swiss ski mountaineer .

Career

Hug made his first attempt at ski mountaineering at the age of eleven when he climbed the Garmil with a self-made touring binding . Since 1990 he has been practicing amateur sport and in 1995 he took part in his first competition in this sport by taking part in the “Arflinalauf”. He won the “ Pizol Challenge” in 1999 and 2000. Since 2000 he has been a member of the Swiss national ski mountaineering team . He also does mountain biking, climbing and mountain running . In 2003 he was the organizer of “Pizol Altiski”, born through him together with Beat Good and Andreas Zimmermann.

In autumn 2005 he completed an internship as a landscape gardener in London and lives in Sargans .
