Jean-Yves Rey
Jean-Yves Rey (born November 24, 1970 in Sierre ) is a Swiss ski mountaineer , mountain and marathon runner .
Rey began ski mountaineering in 1990, took part in the small course of the Patrouille des Glaciers that same year and has been a member of the Swiss national ski mountaineering team since 1999 .
Successes (selection)
Ski mountaineering
- 1999: 7th place at the Pierra Menta with Jean-Daniel Masserey
- 2003: 6th place at the European Ski Mountaineering Team with Jean-Daniel Masserey
- 2004:
- 2nd place in the Patrouille des Glaciers with Pierre-Marie Taramarcaz and Jean-Daniel Masserey
- 4th place at the World Ski Mountaineering Team with Sébastien Epiney
- 9th place at the World Championship Vertical Race
- 2005:
- 2nd place at the European Ski Mountaineering Championship with Alexander Hug , Christian Pittex and Yannick Ecoeur
- 7th place at the European Ski Mountaineering Individual Championships
- 7th place at the European Ski Mountaineering Team with Jean-Daniel Masserey
Running
In 2004 he won the Zermatt Marathon . He won the Alpine Marathon three times in a row and has held the men's course record there since 2005 with 3:07:18 hours.
