Stéphane Brosse
Stéphane Brosse (born October 20, 1971 in Le Pont-de-Beauvoisin , Savoie ; † June 17, 2012 on the Aiguille d'Argentière ) was a French ski mountaineer and multiple title winner in this sport.
Career
He started ski mountaineering in 1990 and took part in a competition for the first time in 1995 at the Miage Contamines Somfy . Since 1996 he has been a member of the French national ski mountaineering team . In 2006 he was in the Patrouille des Glaciers in the winning team that set the course record. Together with Pierre Gignoux , who is also a member of the French national ski mountaineering team, he has held the record for the ascent including descent on Mont Blanc since May 30, 2003 with a total time of 5h 15 ′ 47 ″, including around 4 hours and 7 minutes the ascent and 1 hour and 7 minutes for the subsequent ski descent. He lived in Annecy . On June 17, 2012, he had a fatal accident while crossing the Aiguille d'Argentière when a snow plow collapsed below him and he fell 700 meters into the depth.
In addition to ski mountaineering, he went mountaineering , alpine skiing , sailing and mountain biking .
