Recha Jungmann

Recha Jungmann (* 1940 in Bad Kreuznach ) is a German film director , screenwriter , camerawoman , actress and producer .

Jungmann is considered one of the early filmmakers of the New German Film .

biography

Jungmann studied at the University of Music and Theater in Hanover and then worked as an actress . Her first documentaries and short films were shown at international film festivals, for example "Two Right, Two Left, Drop One" premiered at the Womens Film Festival in Toronto and "Something hurts" (1979) at the Rotterdam Film Festival. The latter was also shown in the Forum program at the 1980 Berlinale, and her subsequent feature film "Between Moon and Sun" premiered at the Berlinale. At the end of the 1970s she worked as a writer and director for ZDF and in the 1990s she made television documentaries for public broadcasters . She also worked as a writer for HR and developed scripts for TV films and magazine articles.

Private

Recha Jungmann lives in Frankfurt. With Lothar Spree she has a son, Titus Spree .
