Recharge was a Hanoverian hardcore and crustpunk band that emerged from the 1992 disbanded Chemical Maze.

history

At first the program consisted exclusively of discharge covers, but after the drummer returned to Germany after a year-long stay in England with the band "The Losers", the decision was made to produce their own songs. In a relatively short time 14 songs were put together, of which 10 songs were released in mid-1994 as 12 "under the title Silent Screams on AC Records ; the remaining 4 songs were released on various compilations. All 14 songs are re-released for Japan and the USA CD released by Tribal War Asia In October 1995 the LP / CD Hamburg '42 was recorded (this time exclusively with German lyrics), which was released by Epistrophy at the end of March 1996. In the same month Recharge went on tour in Japan for 2 weeks later new recordings were made for a split EP with Extinct Government from Tokyo, which was released in early 1997. In September 1997 the LP / CD Menschen, Hass, Vernichtung was released, this was by the singer of the Westerwald hardcore punk band Ja & Amen, Dirk Koch, sung in. A tour of Germany with the Baffdecks followed, and in 1998 Recharge embarked on a tour of the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria and Switzerland and released a split EP with External Menace from Scotland. Then the singer and the bassist (who had been with the band since 1997) left the band; the rest decided to start a new band ( Audio Kollaps ). Drummer Björn formed a band called Annex5 in 2003 . A recharge album called "Bullenterror" will be released posthumously in 2007, which contains the long out of print Silent Screams -12 ", the songs from the Split EPs and previously unreleased material. In August 2012, guitarist Paul died in an accident after visiting the ferryman festival in Hanover.
