Reconsider Baby is a West Coast style blues song written by Lowell Fulson and recorded in 1954 for Checker, a Chess Records sub-label . Lowell Fulson was one of the founding fathers of the West Coast style.

Reconsider Baby was written by Lowell Fulson and recorded on September 27, 1954 in Dallas, Texas for the Chess sub-label Checker. The back of the single reads I Believe I'll Give It Up . Reconsider Baby is a slow blues in G. The song became a hit and was on the Billboard R&B charts for 15 weeks, where it reached number three. The song was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame - Category: "Classics of Blues Recordings" and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - "500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll".

In terms of content, it is a song in which the singer complains about saying goodbye to a woman. He was with her for a long time and is not enthusiastic about the type of separation (we've been together so long, to have to separate this way. ”) But his wish is for her to think twice and come back. ("Why don't you reconsider baby give yourself just a little more time.")
