The Red Lake ( English for "Red Lake") is a lake in the Kenora District in the west of the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Red Lake has an area of 144 km² (including islands) and has a maximum depth of 46 m. The Red Lake is traversed by the Chukuni River in an easterly direction and drained to the nearby Gullrock Lake . The small town of Red Lake is located on the southeastern shore of the lake. The following types of fish are caught in Red Lake: eyeglass , Canadian pikeperch , largemouth bass , black bass , pike , muscle lung , American river perch , sunfish , American char and herring whitefish . The catch of the sea sturgeon is prohibited all year round.
