List of cultural assets in Erlenbach im Simmental

The list of cultural assets in Erlenbach im Simmental contains all objects in the municipality of Erlenbach im Simmental in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of October 29, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict .

Objects in categories A and B are completely included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

Reformed church building in Romanesque style, the core of which dates back to the 11th century and was consecrated to the Archangel Michael until the Reformation . The compact, early Gothic choir tower with ribbed vaults dates from the second half of the 13th century, the pointed helmet from the 15th century. The complete painting of the interior in the manner of a picture Bible is unique (mostly exposed around 1420/30, 1931).

The farmhouse , which was probably built by Hans Messerli in 1766 , is one of the key works of Simmental carpentry and has been used as a valley museum since 1987. Harmoniously proportioned building in mixed construction; The total volume precisely defined by the protruding roof. Characteristic structure of the front with clear symmetry, three-part division of the facade, three-dimensional design with strongly sculpted ribbons or flat carved row ornaments.

Fully preserved house built in 1766, probably by master carpenter Hans Messerli . The mixed construction announces a stylistic transition in habitus and wall structure: The building is still committed to the Simmental tradition, but already covered with a steep Ründidach , the earliest example in Erlenbach. Harmonious proportions and excellent design of the front with rich carved friezes.

House probably built in 1782 with a representative effect. Magnificent, voluminous structure from a stylistic transition period: the main floors are still committed to the Simmental tradition, but are already covered by a steep Ründidach . Both gable fronts are sculpted with rich, sometimes powerful carvings .

The rectory , built in 1767, is a representative plastered building in the late Baroque style, on the east side with a layer of arbor in frame and timber construction. Characteristic are the balanced overall proportions, the protruding buckled roof and the restrained, calm, regular facade structure, which give the official building the character of a campaign . Plain window frames and corner pilaster strips in plastered tuff stone .

Built in 1819, completely intact farmhouse in post construction on a brick basement plinth. It is characterized by the strict, classicist, unadorned wall structure with individual windows that are true to the axis and the elegant curve of the round that extends into the bird's floorboards . Timely and sparingly applied wooden details enrich the high quality construction.
