List of cultural assets in Wimmis

The list of cultural assets in Wimmis contains all objects in the municipality of Wimmis in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of June 29 , 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in category A are fully included in the list, objects in category B are not shown in the municipality, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

The church building, which dates back to the 10th or 11th century, is a Romanesque , originally three-aisled structure with a three apse and a square tower on the southwest corner, which was converted into a hall church based on the Lombard model before 1450 . The main apse is much larger than the two side apses. Inside are wall paintings from the 15th century.

Elongated castle from the 13th century on a foothill of the Burgflue, with a south-east wing from 1695/96 and a north-east wing from 1741/42. The oldest part is the high medieval dungeon with a two-storey palace . The two side wings rest on high retaining walls, which significantly shape the complex. During the last renovation in 1950, a new hall with sculpted pillar capitals by Erwin Friedrich Baumann was created .

The Letzi , which dates back to the 14th century, is a heavily ingrown stone wall with a partially filled ditch-wall system on the valley side, which forms a clearly visible step in the terrain. The original passages can still be read in the terrain on the mountain side. Immediately before the top of the pass, the anti- tank barrier, built in 1942, extends in an obtuse angle from the Burgflue to the Niesenwald.
