List of cultural assets in Spiez

The list of cultural assets in Spiez contains all objects in the municipality of Spiez in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of June 29 , 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in categories A and B are completely included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

Church building probably from the 11th century and first mentioned in 762. The early Romanesque pillar basilica , enclosed by three apses , is a solid masonry building under a hipped roof , with a tower with a pointed spire from the 15th century attached to it . The nave , the choir and the apses are tiered in height. Inside, typologically unique crypt , which is accessed from the side yokes of the choir.

Castle dating back to around 1200 , today used as a museum. The centerpiece of the complex is the originally free-standing keep , the lowest part of which consists of rough boulder blocks. The post-Gothic north wing, a striking corner building under a striking roof spire , was built between 1599 and 1601. The "new castle" on the south side is a stately addition from the 17th century, a plastered solid building under a bent hipped roof .

The farmhouse built in 1728 , which has been used as a viticulture and local history museum since 1986, is a high -quality square timber block building in the characteristic Oberland style under a gable roof . The gable-side gable arbor merges into the eaves arbor at the corners and is supported by decoratively painted and sawn consoles . Numerous cube friezes decorate the building.

The elongated, wooded ridge southeast of Spiez was the site of a prehistoric fortified hilltop settlement , which was first archaeologically examined in the 1930s.

From the 10./11. One-nave church building in Romanesque style dating from the 19th century . The masonry solid construction under the hipped roof has an apse with pilaster strips and blind arch arcades that even go back to the 7th century. The tower and the retracted choir arch date from the 15th century, the slat ceiling is Gothic .

The small castle was built in 1617 with a mixed construction method under a bent quarter- hipped roof and with round fringed fringing . The ground floor as a frame construction , the upper floor as a block construction and the top floor as a half-timbered construction rise above the massive plastered basement , which gives the building a stately habitus. Access is via the representative stair tower attached to the northeast .

The church building , built in 1907 in the Heimatstil with Art Nouveau influences , is a solid structure under a hipped gable roof . Two polygonal turrets, which house the stairs to the galleries , frame the main south-east facade. On the northeast side there is an impressive church tower with rustic square bars and a polygonal helmet .
