Program disk with Redabas

Redabas ( Re lationales Since th ba nk s ystem) was the database system for microcomputer from the VEB Kombinat Robotron of the GDR .

Redabas was apparently a copy of dBASE II, a database management system from the US software manufacturer Ashton-Tate , which was renamed. The CP / M copy SCP was initially used as the 8-bit operating system . REDABAS 3, which was later supplied by Robotron for 16-bit computers, ran under the MS-DOS copy DCP . This corresponded to version dBASE III.

The own historical representation on the part of Robotron database software GmbH from Dresden looked in the meantime as follows:

  • "1985–1989: Parallel to INTERBAS development, adaptation and further development of the REDABAS system for PC based on dBASE II by Ursula Hempel and Hans Loley."
