The Rederangsee is a lake in the area of the town of Waren (Müritz) in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The body of water lies within protection zone I (core zone) of the Müritz National Park .
The water is located about seven kilometers southeast of Waren. With a maximum length of 1900 meters and a maximum width of 1400 meters, it has a surface of 200 hectares; with the artificial bodies of water in the north of the Großer Bruch , another 12.6 hectares are added. The heavily covered lake is located in the middle of the marshland on the east bank of the Müritz. The lake drains through a ditch to the Müritz.
The area around the water is swampy. In the north of the body of water lies the Federower Dickungen forest area .
From Federow you can get to an observation platform by bike or on foot. When the cranes migrate , you can join the guided tours from the Federow National Park Center .
