The Redside Burn is a river in the Midlothian council area of Scotland .

The river arises as a drain from the Edgelaw Reservoir on the east side of the reservoir. The Redside Burn drains northeast through a wooded valley. After a total length of only three kilometers, it flows about one kilometer northeast of Temple into the South Esk , which finally drains over the Esk into the Firth of Forth . A short distance east of the mouth is the Mansion Arniston House .
Surroundings
Despite its short length, the Redside Burn is spanned by two listed bridges. The Carrington Bridge was built in the early 19th century. The masonry viaduct spans the Redside Burn with an arch. It is classified as a category B structure. A short distance upriver, a Carrington Mill bridge spans the Redside Burn. It is classified as a Category C monument. The dam of the Edgelaw Reservoir with its installations is a category B structure.
