History and equipment

In the midst of Brusio, which has been a Catholic majority since the Counter-Reformation , but which has always retained a Reformed minority, the church, the rectory and the cemetery with numerous epitaphs form an architecturally uniform ensemble in the town. The church was built in 1645 immediately after the end of the Bündner turmoil and rebuilt in the Rococo period in 1727/28.

The church presents itself with one of a barrel vault covered nave without choir . The pulpit dates from 1727 and shows rococo stylistic features in playful ornaments. The church tower dates back to 1679 and stands out due to its five-story tower.

Church organization

The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden ran Brusio as an independent parish with its own parish within the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès until 2009 . Since January 2010 there has been a pastoral community with Poschiavo .
