Casti Reformed Church
The Reformed Church in Casti in Shams in the canton of Grisons is a Grade II listed Evangelical - Reformed church in the southeast of the village on an exposed rock.
History and equipment
The character of a Romanesque hall church from the 12th century is rare in Graubünden .
The massive church tower adjoining the church building in the south was only later given a bell storey with bells from the late medieval to pre-Reformation period, around 1300 to 1484.
Inside the church there are early Gothic wall paintings by the Waltensburg master . The simple pulpit was built in 1807. The church was renovated in 1971–1973 and 1990–1994. The five-registration organ from Orgelbau Felsberg AG dates from 2007 .
Church organization
Casti-Wergenstein form a pastoral community with Zillis and the other villages on the Schamserberg and belong to the Colloquium II Schams-Avers-Rheinwald-Moesa within the Protestant-Reformed regional church of Graubünden .
