The Reformed Church in Domat / Ems in Chur Rhine Valley is an Evangelical - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons . The building is in Via Concordia .

history

Since the Reformation , which was not accepted in Domat / Ems, and since the end of the Grison turmoil final confessional homogeneity in place no Protestants lived in the village more. In the 19th century, some families moved in, who were looked after by the parish in Felsberg .

The 20th century brought a strong population growth and also the Reformed portion, so that after the Second World War a Reformed parish was formed, which initially stood in pastoral community with Felsberg, where the church and rectory were also located.

In 1964 the parish of Domat / Ems built its own church building. Originally planned on the Tuma Platta , it had to be built at the foot of the same after official rejection. When the church bells were lifted on December 16, 1963, the bells of the Catholic village churches rang a festive bell as a sign of ecumenical solidarity.

Flurin Darms became the first local pastor in 1968 .

Furnishing

The church as a modern sacred building made of concrete is characterized by the open bell tower and the fact that inside the church the main line is open and oriented towards the village, which emphasizes the mission of the community into the world. There is a wide light shaft above the pulpit . The Lord's Supper table consists of two mobile sections.

In 1981, by resolution of the parish assembly, glass windows in the dominant colors blue and red were installed in the south-facing window front. The design came from Ruth Margraf , the artistic execution was in charge of Karl-Otto Margraf .

The bells in the open bell tower are called:
