Flurin Darms (born November 13, 1918 in Flond ; † October 18, 2009 in Domat / Ems ; resident in Flond) was a Reformed pastor and Romansh writer.

Life

Darms grew up in a farming family in the Surselva . After attending the Bündner Kantonsschule in Chur and obtaining his Matura, he studied theology at the University of Zurich .

In 1945 Darms was accepted into the Graubünden Synod . From 1946 to 1954 he served in Pontresina , then until 1968 in Trin and then as the first pastor of the newly founded Ems parish until his retirement in 1983 in Domat / Ems.

From 1960 to 1979 Darms was the editor of the Surselvian part of the calendar per mintga gi (English: calendar for every day).

Darms' literary work includes poems and stories, dramas and biographies as well as translations and the like. a. by Leo Tolstoy , Selma Lagerlöf and Albert Camus . Sometimes he published under the pseudonym Frà Urtgic .

Awards

In 1962 and 1974 Darms received the Swiss Schiller Foundation Prize .
