Flond ( Obersaxen Mundaun , Canton of Graubünden , Switzerland .
) is a village in the municipality ofBy the end of 2008, Flond formed an independent political municipality . On January 1, 2009, it merged with Surcuolm to form the political municipality of Mundaun , which in turn merged with Obersaxen on January 1, 2016 to form the newly formed municipality of Obersaxen Mundaun.

Description: A red corn box in silver (white) on a green shield base . For Flond there was no usable seal model for the coat of arms, so that the hist characteristic of the place for drying the harvested grain was used as a motif.
geography
The place is on a terrace on the Obersaxen plateau between the valley floor of the Vorderrhein in the north and the Piz Mundaun . Of the entire community area of 209 hectares, 108 hectares are covered by forest and wood. Another 85 hectares are agriculturally usable and 16 hectares are settlement areas.
The former municipality of Flond bordered on Ilanz , Luven , Obersaxen , Rueun and Surcuolm .

In the second half of the 19th century, with the exception of 1860 and 1870 (upward movement), the population was always around 190. In the first decade of the 20th century there was massive emigration (1900–1910: –17%), which was partially reversed by population growth by 1941. From 1941 to 1980 there was a second wave of emigration (1941–1980: –38%). By expanding tourism, this development could be reversed. Since 1970 the population has increased by 84%.
languages
The population was still monolingual in Romansh (Idiom Sursilvan ) in the 19th century , but has recently succumbed to Germanization. The official language of the earlier community was Romansh.

Religions - denominations
Flond accepted the reformed doctrine in 1526 . In 2000, 70% of the population were Evangelical Reformed and 22% Roman Catholic Christians. In addition, there were 6% without religious affiliation; 2% of the population did not provide any information about their creed. The reformed parish of Flond is part of the pastoral community Luven / Flond / Pitasch / Duvin.
Origin - nationality
Of the 205 residents at the end of 2004, 199 were Swiss citizens. At the last census, 177 were Swiss, including five dual citizens. Most of the few immigrants came from Denmark.
traffic
Flond is well served by public transport via post bus lines ( Ilanz-St.Martin and Ilanz-Surcuolm ). Between Ilanz and Chur you can use the train, the so-called Glacier Express.
politics
The local council, the executive branch, consisted of five people elected for two years. The last mayor was Peter Inauen.

The reformed village church is a listed building .
