Lumnezia is a municipality in the Val Lumnezia (Lugnez) in the Surselva region of the Swiss canton of Graubünden .

history

The new municipality was created on January 1, 2013 from the existing political municipalities Cumbel , Degen , Lumbrein , Morissen , Suraua - the latter is itself from a merger of the municipalities of Camuns , Surcasti and Tersnaus with the merged municipality of Uors-Peiden , from Uors, which has existed since 1962 and Peiden , emerged - with Vignogn , Vella and Vrin . The previous working name Val Lumnezia was abandoned to avoid confusion with the valley of the same name , which consists of more communities than the ones that have now merged.

The coat of arms shows the Porclas near Cumbel.
