Culture and history

The population of Surcuolm traditionally speaks Romansh . Unlike the neighboring settlements of Flond and Luven , however, it is Catholic.

In the middle of the 19th century, Yenish families were naturalized on the basis of the law to combat homelessness . Surcuolm has experienced a major boom in recent years, not least due to its connection to the Obersaxen ski area .
