Lehma is a district of Treben in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .

location

Lehma is located to the south-east at the tip of the Kammerforstes and is connected to the state road 1355 . The district lies on the edge of the Pleißeniederung .

history

It was first mentioned in documents between 1181 and 1214. Lehma belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies from the 16th century onwards due to several divisions during its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. After the administrative reform in the duchy, it belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Altenburg district office (from 1900).

From 1918 Lehma belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was incorporated into the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 the village became part of the Altenburg district . On July 1, 1950, Trebanz was incorporated into Lehma. During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus the place came with the district Altenburg to the district of Leipzig . After the re-establishment of the Free State of Thuringia in 1990, Lehma initially belonged again to its Altenburg district, and since 1994 to the Altenburger Land district. This municipality of Lehma with its district Trebanz was incorporated into Wintersdorf on January 1, 1996 . With the incorporation of Wintersdorf to Meuselwitz on December 1, 2007, Lehma came to Meuselwitz for a short time. In a referendum, the residents of Lehma and Trebanz voted for a reclassification to Treben , this happened on December 30, 2008. 280 people live in the district.

As part of the restoration of the historic townscape of Lehma after the political change , a large four-sided farm in Hauptstrasse 7 is being restored on a private initiative. In the GDR era, the buildings belonged to an LPG and were structurally shabby.
