Reformed Church Lengerich
The Reformed Church in Lengerich is one of the oldest church buildings in the Emsland . Up until the Reformation it was consecrated to St. Benedict , a patronage that was resumed by the Catholic Church in Lengerich .
The oldest part is the west tower built around 1200 from field stone with twin windows as sound hatches, on which a late Gothic floor was added in 1538 .
Today's also late Gothic nave was built from 1480 or 1490 and is a three-aisled hall church . By taking over the remains of the wall from the previous building, it is a bit crooked.
