The Refuge du Pavé is a refuge of the Club Alpin Français in France in the Hautes-Alpes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Pelvoux at an altitude of 2841 m, at the foot of Le Pavé and Pic Gaspard and on the edge of the Lac du Pavé .

history

When a refuge was to be built at the current location in 1970, it was destroyed by an avalanche during construction in the winter of 1970/71. Since the housing of the construction workers was spared from the avalanche, it was then converted into a shelter.

The construction of a new building is planned for 2020.

From the municipality of Villar-d'Arêne you can reach a car park at the foot of the Pied du col . From there about 4 hours of walking with 1150 meters of altitude .
