Regina Mundlak
Regina Mundlak (born 1887 in Koleski, Lomza district , Russian Empire ; died 1942 ) was a Polish / Jewish painter , draftsman and etcher .
Life
Regina Mundlak came to Berlin when she was fourteen. She received her training at Max Liebermann's expense . She studied with Lovis Corinth . She was taught by Hermann Struck , among others . She stayed in Paris for a while. In 1906 her drawings were shown at a collective exhibition in the Cassirer Gallery. She then went back to Warsaw, where she had a studio. In 1921 and 1922 she exhibited in the Warsaw Jewish Community, and in 1938 in the Warsaw Jewish Art Society. In 1928 she had a solo exhibition in Berlin. In 1942 her traces are lost, she was probably deported from the Warsaw ghetto to the Treblinka extermination camp .
Her oeuvre consists mainly of pen and ink drawings ; Impressions and sketches from the life of their homeland: Jewish life in Poland, scenes from the domestic life of the Jewish family e.g. B. Lichtbenschen on Friday evening .
