Regina Stiefl

Regina Stiefl (born October 11, 1966 ) is a former German mountain biker .

Life

Stiefl grew up in Grainau and initially began to ski competitively. Then she took her first baby break. In 1987 she switched from the slopes to the trail. Regina Stiefl started successfully to drive cross-country races. A heart muscle inflammation and a knee surgery they put temporarily out of action. She then switched to mountain bike downhill . Her constant competitor in the field was Missy Giove . In 1993 and 1995 Stiefl won the Mountain Bike World Cup .

After a season marked by failures, she quit mountain biking at the end of 1996. A short comeback attempt in 1998 only brought second-rate World Cup results. She later became a stylist .

  • 1999 induction into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame.

Trivia

On September 23, 1995, Stiefl was a guest at the current sports studio on ZDF. After the presenter Günther Jauch announced her as the best German female mountain biker, she rode a mountain bike into the studio, whereupon she fell down the studio stairs.

In 1998, Stiefl was photographed for Playboy .
